What are PROTRADE Dollars (PT$)?
PROTRADE Dollars (PT$) (fake money) make up the currency you trade in on the PROTRADE market. Upon registration, every trader is given $5,000 PROTRADE Dollars (PT$) to start trading with (for free). Traders can then use their PROTRADE Dollars (PT$) to redeem Rewards (cool prizes). For more on this, read What Are Rewards?
What kind of prizes can I win if I play in a public challenge?
Check the challenge details for prize information. Depending on the challenge, you can compete for more PROTRADE Dollars (PT$) (to redeem for Rewards), sports memorabilia, electronics, cash and more.
Can I buy any players I want?
It depends on the challenge. If you create your own private challenge, you get to set the rules and you pick the positions that can be traded. In public challenges, we vary the rules - some challenges allow any player from any sport to be traded while others might be pitchers or quarterbacks only, for example.
How long do challenges last?
It depends on the challenge. If you create your own private challenge, you get to set the rules and pick the length of the challenge (from one week to several months). For public challenges, we vary the length - some challenges last one week while others go all season long.
Are challenge portfolios separate from My Portfolio?
Yes. For every challenge you enter, you get a new portfolio of PT$25,000 (fake PROTRADE Dollars (PT$)). Each challenge portfolio is separate and different from your My Portfolio. Once the challenge is over, your portfolio for that challenge expires.
What are trade limits?
Trade limits control the number of trades you can make in any given challenge. Some challenges have unlimited trades and entrants can make as many trades as they want (these tend to be faster-paced). Other challenges have limits on the number of trades that can be made (so make every trade count!). If you create a private challenge, you get to set the trade limit.
What happens to the money in my challenge portfolio once the challenge is over?
Once the challenge is complete, your portfolio for that particular challenge expires. You may not transfer funds between different portfolios.
If I make trades before a challenge begins, do those count against my transaction limit?
No. The transaction limits take effect once the challenge begins.
If I make trades before a challenge begins and I earn or lose money on those stocks (before the challenge begins), does that count toward my portfolio return in that challenge?
No. Your portfolio return is based on the value of your portfolio when the challenge begins.
For example, you make some trades before the challenge starts. At the time the challenge begins, your portfolio is worth PT$25,500. Your portfolio return for the challenge would be based on any gain or loss from PT$25,500.
