|

i.e. There is a post about Roger Clemens and you find it every where because they put NCAAB, NFL, NBA, Texas, Pam Anderson and Ed Ramero in the topic.

|
The repetitive yelling of cheap! cheap! buy, buy, cheap! cheap! when referring to stocks.

clanCARL
|
clanCARL is a non-exclusive group of traders who share an affinity for Carl freakin Weathers (CWEAT), the greatest athlete/actor to ever walk this planet and many others. The members of the CARL nation get together on a thread once a week and share stories about CWEAT, and his many triumphs, along with trading tips. Anyone who wishes can read the thread.

ED
|
Short for Earnings Day. The day when stock prices for a particular sport are set to the player's actual earnings. This happens on the first business day after the last game of the season.

Fanning
|
The process of making posts based solely on personal opinions about athletes you like without any statistical data used to support your case. Simply written to tell others about one of your favorite athletes and/or to convince others to like him.

|
Foulking
|
To deliberately buy the stock of a player who has no chance of earning any money this particular season.
|
Geek Juicing
a.k.a. Geeking
|
The act of introducing a highly complex, top secret, sabre-metrics like statistic to the community.

|
ILTC
|
Short for "ilovethiscrap," a well respected and intelligent trader. Also a member of "The Weekly 9" (see below).
|
|
IPO
|
Abbreviation for Initial Public Offering. When PROTRADE introduces a new stock to the market (usually every Wednesday), at a price determined by PT.

Jonnyredding
|
To expose yourself as a multiple account holder in an incredibly stupid way. Notable trader: jonnyredding

|
Lemmings
|
PT'ers who blindly follow others advice / hype without checking things out on their own.
|
|
Lurking
|
The act of hanging around the top 30 in a challenge and saving most of your challenge trades, only to blow past everybody in the final day or two. Notable trader: Dmac84
|
|
Maloning
|
As in Karl Malone. The act of speaking about yourself in the third person or commenting about your own post.
|
|
Metsmaning
|
The idiotic act of admitting that you are cheating to everyone and seeing nothing wrong with it. Notable trader: Metsman

|
Mikkiing
|
The selling of an undervalued stock for fear of future losses.
|
|
Moored
|
A stock that will not move up in price but is continuously hyped and proven to be a great or best buy. |
NEWB or NOOB a.k.a. Rookie or Newbie
|
This is you, if you are actually learning anything from this glossary.
Note: PROTRADE officially loves Noobs.

|
Noobing
|
The act of writing pointless one or two line posts that have no PROTRADE relevance, or purposely mistitling a post so it will receive attention. i.e. KOBE TRADED!!

Peytoning
|
The buying of an extremely overpriced stock in order to ride it for a few hours and gain a few hundred PT dollars at most.
|
|
Pimping
|
Recommending a stock for the sole purpose of gaining monetary value, usually for a challenge.
|
|
PMSing
|
When a stock is PMSing it is very moody, has violent price swings in a short period of time, then settles down after a couple days... This may happen monthly. Beware of these stocks!!
|
|
PP
|
Short for PrisonPlumber, a humorous and well-respected blogger.
|
|
Premature speculation
|
When you use up all of your challenge trades to grab the lead in the first day or two, only to then helplessly watch yourself drop off the leaderboard because you're out of trades. |

Pump and dump
|
The act of "pumping" up a stock's price by posting a tip about an athlete/team, and then "dumping" (selling) the stock after people buy into your tip and drive the price up.

Rabbitting
|
Replying to a post numerous times instead of composing your thoughts and replying once. Notable trader: Schizo_Rabbit
|
|
Re-Shorting
|
The art of maximizing profits on a losing stock. If you are shorting a stock, you will maximize profits by: Covering the stock at 5%-6% intervals, and then Shorting the stock again to gain more shares.

|
Rocket
|
A stock that should not be on the market. Usage: Roger Clemens is a "rocket".
|
|
Senaca
|
Refers to Senana Wallace back in the 2006 NFL season. He was ridiculously bought up, because he made one catch for 6 yards in a playoff game against the Bears. He went up close to 120%, before dropping $80 in a matter of seconds.

Short bus
|
When everyone jumps on an obvious short and drives it down very quickly.
|
|
Skilleting
|
The act of buying and selling small numbers of shares to insight panic selling or bandwagon buying among the rest of the traders. Note: Skilleting has been outlawed.

|
Slating
|
To belittle another trader for no reason. Commenting on a post with one line, meant to bring the post or poster down. I.E. "Yes, we all know this", or "That was posted 3 weeks ago, where were you".

Slope Report
|
Slope reports track how quickly shorts are moving down, therefore encouraging traders to focus on the fastest moving shorts and generating more money for everyone involved. Notable traders that create Slope reports: Dmac84, ILTC, Bub, wolfpack, Dmcnabb, and epinionated1

The Weekly 9 a.k.a. The 9
|
A group comprised of Skilletman70, ILTC, dmgeist, Sixsandles22, and kwchamber. They recommend 4 buys, 4 shorts, and a barnburner every week (more or less).

Vitaling
|
As in Dick Vital. To write post titles or entire posts in ALL CAPS.
|

Wafflers
|
One who changes their "favorite ___" list because someone criticized it the first time they posted...

Wanging
|
Re-hyping an over hyped stock because it has started to fall again.
