Keppinger appeared to hurt himself in the second inning when he fouled a ball off the inside of his leg. Corey Patterson pinch hit for him in the fourth. In the fifth, Jerry Hairston Jr. moved to short stop, Ryan Freel moved to right field, and Patterson moved to center field.

Cubs expected to sign Edmonds
May 13, 2008
BY GORDON WITTENMYER gwittenmyer@suntimes.com
The Cubs appear poised to sign veteran center fielder Jim Edmonds soon after he clears waivers Wednesday.
That would mean a demotion to the minors for touted prospect Felix Pie, who entered Monday wi... See story » User Blog: By leites

Somehow, in all the post-Neshek festivities yesterday, Manny Corpas got overlooked. Here are the reasons why I think he is the best short on the MLB market (if I am right he's will end up as a 68% floor short):
1) Corpas currently has negative earnings (-$2.79). But that includes the four save... See story » User Blog: By Madgear

Not only is he not playing full time, he's currently without a team. With the Mariners last season he only earned $54.77 while playing part time. He played in only 99 games. No team no playing time. I don't know of many teams that need a struggling 1st baseman added to their roster. He can also play... See story » User Blog: By Madgear

First one(yesterday) didn't go so well, hopefully this one and all others shall have better results. The market is crazy regarding pitchers so anything short of a 8IP, 0ER, 10K performance will likely result in a drop of prices but lets get this going.

Sorry for the second post on the same player but I thought this was very pertinent information. Kippinger had a fractured knee cap on June 15th, 2005 and missed the entire season. This would seem to indicate a much longer rehab, if he could come back at all.
The link below is an interview he... See story »
Jeff Keppinger, unfortunately, is now going to be on the D.L. for who knows how long with a fractured patella. He walked to force in the second run for the Reds after he stayed in to complete the at-bat in which he fouled the ball off of his patella. As it has already been posted I figured I'd post ... The 'Food Network' is reporting that injured Red- Jeff Keppinger had scrambled eggs, bacon, wheat toast with grape jam, and coffee for breakfast this morning.
If I find any more 'breaking news' that is new, I'll be sure to let you all know.

Justin Verlander has seen better years. So far he has 1 win and a 6.43 ERA in almost 50 innings pitched. Only slightly better stats than the infamous Barry Zitolicious. The big difference is he's priced more than twice that of Zito.

Jayson Werth has had a big night for the Phillies tonight.
